The reticent Henry Cavendish serves as the primary inspiration behind the Limited Edition Swan & Edgar Hand Assembled Cavendish Synthesis Automatic Rose men’s watch. A noted yet shy character in his time, Cavendish nevertheless made heavy contributions to the world of science, being an adept chemist and physicist who discovered hydrogen, among many more innovations that helped catapult British – and indeed global – science forward during the 18th and 19th centuries.

This timepiece boasts precise 210 part 20 jewel hand assembled automatic movement that operates with exceptional accuracy. The Date and Date functions are arranged across the intriguing black dial, sitting above an exhibition feature that adds a unique element to the design. Enhancing this style, the rose gold bezel and inner ring match the 12 hour analogue markers which encircle the key attraction.

The notched rose gold IP case pays reference to Cavendish’s remarkable wealth that often deceived his otherwise reserved charm. This is complemented by a raven-black leather bracelet with contrasting red stitching, demonstrating Cavendish’s broad and intricate knowledge base.

The 163 part 20 jewel hand assembled automatic movement operates the luminous hands and Minutes, Day, Date and Month Counters, which are encapsulated within luminous indices which stand out against the mahogany-red dial. These details subtly reference Morris’ ingenuity that helped cement his legacy. The rotating bezel and Tachymeter provide further functionality which hints at Morris’ broad capability.

A Swan & Edgar logo engraved stainless steel caseback and stainless steel mesh bracelet with folding clasp complete the timepiece and bring the cacophony of details and ideas together to create something that celebrates Morris’ life beautifully.

Where It All Began

150 Years of History & Heritage

Founded by George Swan & William Edgar in 1812, the world-famous Swan & Edgar department store marked the cornerstone of London’s West End luxury fashion scene. Swan & Edgar developed into an iconic British institution steeped in history, with over 150 years of luxury retail history and survived two World Wars. It became a name synonymous with heritage and quality.

Four Generations Of Watchmaking

The Principles & Values

Today, led by 3rd generation watchmaker Antoni Fields and 4th generation watchmaker James Fields, Swan & Edgar celebrates this rich lineage by merging traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology in making hand assembled signature timepieces. We scour the earth sourcing the highest quality raw materials and individually select the finest engineers to build the complications which comprise our precise and sophisticated hand assembled movements.

Hand Finished & Hand Assembled

Elegance, Functionality & Quality

All Swan & Edgar watches are meticulously hand assembled and hand finished before enduring a rigorous 5 day process of quality and precision testing. Each watch will then be engraved with its individual serial number and awarded our industry leading 5 year warranty. A Swan & Edgar timepiece embodies a unique moment in the iconic store’s history and culminates generations of watchmaking expertise.
