Where It All Began

150 Years of History & Heritage

Founded by George Swan & William Edgar in 1812, the world-famous Swan & Edgar department store marked the cornerstone of London’s West End luxury fashion scene. Swan & Edgar developed into an iconic British institution steeped in history, with over 150 years of luxury retail history and survived two World Wars. It became a name synonymous with heritage and quality.

Four Generations Of Watchmaking

The Principles & Values

Today, led by 3rd generation watchmaker Antoni Fields and 4th generation watchmaker James Fields, Swan & Edgar celebrates this rich lineage by merging traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology in making hand assembled signature timepieces. We scour the earth sourcing the highest quality raw materials and individually select the finest engineers to build the complications which comprise our precise and sophisticated hand assembled movements.

Hand Finished & Hand Assembled

All Swan & Edgar watches are meticulously hand assembled and hand finished before enduring a rigorous 5 day process of quality and precision testing. The Swan & Edgar brand has a long and illustrious heritage, and this automatic timepiece reflects the best of British history with the Hutton Contour Atlas watch which was inspired by the work of British mathematician Charles Hutton. His pioneering survey of Schiehallion in 1774 revealed the invention of contours which has shaped the appearance of modern maps. This beautifully hand-assembled, limited edition watch emulates this invention in its elegant watch face design.

Featuring an intricate pattern which reflects the natural curves of Hutton’s contours, the watch face is framed by steel and showcases clearly marked steel diamond cut indices. The striking dial possesses matching month and day sub dials together with a display of the moon’s phases which serve to reinforce the geographical theme.

This timepiece is housed in a stainless steel domed skeleton caseback case, and features a serrated edge crown featuring the Swan & Edgar logo. The perfect finishing touch is the ash black hand waxed leather strap with Swan & Edgar logo buckle which completes its sophisticated look.
